CHICAGO—September 10, 2008—The artwork of dozens of accomplished local artists will be on display at Triton College from Monday, Sept. 29 through Friday, Oct. 17 for the 80th Annual Fall Exhibit of the West Suburban Artists Guild. The artists’ reception and awards celebration for this exhibit will take place on Friday, October 17 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., and will be open to the public. The artistic theme for this exhibit is “Celebration.”

The art exhibit and the final reception will be held in the main floor gallery, Rm. 107 of Building J, the Fine Arts Building at Triton College, 2000 Fifth Avenue in River Grove, IL. Free parking is available and admission to the exhibit and the reception is also free.

The entire exhibit will be open to the public for viewing Mon. thru Thurs.
from 12:15 to 2 p.m., as well as Tues. & Thurs. mornings 9:15 to 10: 30 and Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 1:30p.m.  It features works in several media including painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, and sculpture. At the 10/17 reception, artwork will be judged in a number of categories by local collage artist Deco, a/k/a Bernadette Freeman of River Forest, who as an artist intertwines cultural, psychological, social, and spiritual elements into her non-traditional collage style. In addition to judging the exhibit, Deco will
provide artistic insights and commentary on the winning choices. Refreshments will be provided to the music of “Ringshout,” featuring guitarist George Bailey and percussionist Carl Spight.
