HO trains are running again on the new
Oak River Railroad!
Visit the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers on Saturday,
November 6, 2004 from 12:01 p.m. to 5 p.m. during their Fall Open House at the Dole Learning Center, 255 Augusta. This Open House commemorates the club's 40th year in Oak Park!
While construction continues on the new multi-level model railroad,
the club has arranged to operate trains on the track completed so far. Stop by for a look at what's been built and see the plans for the immediate future. Operate engines in one of our classification yards
or maybe even on the main line.
The club's model railroad uses Digital Command Control and incorporates a number of modeling innovations.
The Oak Park Public Library will also have a display of train materials from their collection. There are a variety of items available about the hobby of model railroading, real railroads and children's books on
these subjects, too. Free refreshments.
