INDY 500 WINNER FRANCHITTI HAS BEEN STRONG  AT THE
MILWAUKEE MILE

2004 Milwaukee Mile Event Winner is First Scotsman Since Clark to Win Indianapolis 500

Milwaukee, Wis. (May 27, 2007) – The winner of the 91st Running of the Indianapolis 500, Dario Franchitti, is a proven contender at The Milwaukee Mile heading into this weekend’s return to The Milwaukee Mile for the IndyCar Series in the ABC Supply / A.J. Foyt 225 presented by Time Warner Cable.  Momentum and past performance will be in favor of the Andretti Green Racing driver.

Franchitti became the first Scot to win the Indianapolis 500 since Jimmy Clark won the ‘500 in 1965.  Each open wheel standout also has a Milwaukee Mile victory to their credit.

Franchitti was able to capture the 2004 IndyCar Series event at The Milwaukee Mile, while Clark won the first-ever rear-engine Indy car victory at America’s Legendary Oval in 1963.

Including his 2004 victory, Franchitti’s performance at The Milwaukee Mile in IndyCar Series events has been strong.  He started seventh on the grid in 2004, led three times for 111 laps enroute to victory, he started eighth and led twice for 44 laps before finishing second to Sam Hornish, Jr. in 2005, and started 12th, led laps 109-134 (26 laps total) and finished sixth last summer behind race winner and teammate Tony Kanaan.

Time Warner Cable presents the June 2-3 IndyCar Series and Indy Pro Series race weekend, with practice sessions and the 3:45 p.m. CST Road Runner High Speed Online Pole Qualifying for the IndyCar Series set for Saturday, June 2.  Saturday is also race day for the emerging open wheel stars of the Indy Pro Series, with the green flag for the Road Runner 100 flying shortly after 5:00 p.m.

Sunday’s activities begin with an all-IndyCar Series driver autograph session at 9:30 a.m. CST on the fan midway.  The command to start engines given by non other than A.J. Foyt himself is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, for the ABC Supply / A.J. Foyt 225 presented by Time Warner Cable.

Tickets are still available for both exciting days of action through The Milwaukee Mile ticket office by calling (414) 453-8277, or by visiting the speedway’s website, www.milwaukeemile.com.

This will be the first time in ten years, and for an unparalleled 50th time, The Milwaukee Mile follows the Indianapolis 500 on the schedule, in a return to the traditional ‘first Sunday in June’ Indy car event weekend at The Milwaukee Mile.

The Milwaukee Mile is the world’s oldest active speedway, dating back to 1903.  In just the last five years, over $23 million has been invested in facility improvements at America’s Legendary Oval.  Season tickets are still available for the June 2 Road Runner 100 Indy Pro Series race, the June 3 ABC Supply / A.J. Foyt 225 presented by Time Warner Cable IndyCar Series event, the June 22 Toyota Tundra Milwaukee 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series spectacle, the Saturday night June 23 AT&T 250 NASCAR Busch Series event, and the speedway’s traditional August 24-26 Governor’s Cup stock car race weekend featuring Wisconsin NASCAR superstar Matt Kenseth racing in a late model event.
