"Harry For The Holidays"
by Harry Connick, Jr.
review by Ed Vincent
Harry Connick Jr. presents; “Harry
for the Holidays”
A nice selection of Christmas
songs spun with a hip beat
that Sinatra would be proud
of. Whether Harry is defending
the earth from Alien
Invasions with Will Smith or singing
to our delight, his success
is a benefit to all of us. The songs
are fun and seem fit for downtown
New York or any place that
“Guy and Dolls” is playing or
has played. A nice seasonal
release, good timing………
Harry Connick, Jr. kicks off the holiday
season with a brand new Christmas album featuring 16 tracks performed with
his Big band and orchestra. Harry performs classics such as "Santa Claus
Is Coming To Town," Silent Night," Silver Bells" and "I'll Be Home For
Christmas"-only as Harry can. Each track blends the traditional song with
Harry's roots in Jazz, Swing, Big Band and Blues. The album also includes
four new original songs penned by Harry himself.
