Reader's Theater in Oak Park read
"Proof" by David Auburn.
review by Ed Vincent

The show version of "Proof" was at the Shubert in Chicago last year.  This is a wonderfully scripted writing and a tale of mental adventure.  The story is based in Chicago and takes place in one location, though through transitions in time.  This is and shall always be well written and the same seems to be true too of the people performing it.  The Shubert's cast was talented and worthy of praise, so was the Free Readers Theater in Oak Park.

The Free Readers Theater in Oak Park is a wonderful treat for the Village, their talent and enthusiasm is phenomenal.  Performing for free at the Cornerstone Church, 171 North Cuyler in Oak Park these readers are well deserved of your attention.  There are two performances remaining his season for your enjoyment.

“The Laramie Project”
The story of Matthew Shepard  and his death.   Matthew Shepard  was a young gay man who was mercilessly murdered in the United States.  The play focuses on many interviews with residents of the region where  Matthew Shepard was killed.  There are some 78 different characters who perform in this play.  Extra performers will be brought in for this
presentation and everyone shall have multiple roles.  I would recommend anything done by this ensemble of gifted readers of well chosen material.
