virtues of skilled music-making.
Its pleasure-giving is consistent." - Los
Angeles Times
As the engaging innovators of a fresh approach
to classical music, Quartetto
Gelato has won the hearts of audiences worldwide
since their remarkable 1994
debut season. Their programs feature
an exciting mix of classical
favorites, operatic arias, traditional melodies,
tangos and gypsy fiddling.
Quartetto Gelato's members perform on multiple
instruments, including oboe,
English horn, violin, cello, accordion, guitar,
mandolin, topped off by a
show-stopping tenor voice.

prestigious recital presenters

revelatory.The members of Orquesta Aragon
provide some of the most sublime
ensemble playing one could hope to encounter
from a dozen performers." -
Howard Reich, The Chicago Tribune
Fermilab is pleased to provide a rare opportunity
to see one of the most
influential groups in Cuban music. Founded
60 years ago, Orquesta Aragon
was not allowed to visit the US for many years,
but had a huge following in
Communist countries and Africa. In keeping
with the charanga-style,
Orquesta Aragon is a 13 piece band that does
not feature a brass-section,
but rather vocals, flute, and violins on top
of a rhythm section. With the
recent wave of interest in Cuban music, Orquesta
Aragon is again touring
North America, selling out at prestigious
festivals such as Ravinia, and the
jazz festivals of Vancouver, Montreal, San
Francisco, and the JVC Festival
in New York.
