Circle Theatre Now Showing

"Show and Tell"
Circle Theatre’s “Show and Tell” is tour de force of magnificent
acting.  This performance is directed by Mr. Brett Kashanitz,as
well as set design.   The Underground Series has been a
real local treasure with supurb work and preformances, this is
another in a long list of triumphs.  This is a modern work of
playwriting with substantial thought given to physical realities and
psychological drama.  We recommend this play to all our readers
and encourage all with a love of theater.

Director’s Note

All school kids—and their parents—know about ‘Show and Tell’. Bringing
objects from home is not only a lesson in history, but also an experience in
contact, one person reaching for another and the other reaching back. In
today’s society where violence has become commonplace and we are
desensitized to the tragedies in our world, SHOW AND TELL allows us to
look behind what the media shows us on the 10 o’clock news. In this inti-mate
portrait of survivors we see the reality of how we as people cope with loss and
the desperate need to connect to either people or objects that will give us a
sense of security. This is a story of mystery, hope, redemption, and ultimately
survival of the human spirit.

MARIE GOODKIN (Iris/Lucy) is delighted to be back at Circle where she
has appeared in RAGS, GRAND HOTEL, and CYRANO Other recent credits
include JERRY’S GIRLS, WORKING, and PIRATES OF PENZANCE at
Village Players; ALL THAT HE WAS with Transplant Theatre Co. at the
Athenaeum; LOST IN YONKERS at Morton College; and A LITTLE NIGHT
MUSIC and THE GLASS MENAGERIE both at Triton College. She sends her
thanks to the talented cast and crew of SHOW AND TELL especially to Brett
for giving her this opportunity; to the many relatives and friends who support
her artistic endeavors; and to Joe, Kathy, and Ira for their endless supplies
of encouragement and love.

Joe Gordon (Seth) Joe was so excited to play Seth in his debut at Circle
Theatre that he actually walked out on his own engagement party to make the
callback. It’s Ok, though, his fiancee Barbara and wonderful friends all
understood since he’s missed other important functions over the years to act
in other productions as well, includ-ing the roles of John Honeyman in A
WALK IN THE WOODS, Algemon in THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING
EARNEST and Stevens in THE NIGHT OF JANUARY 16th. He dedicates
this show to his wonderful, forgiving friends and family and is making it up
to Barbara by folding the laundry and cleaning the cat box for their first 3
years of marital bliss.

John Jordan (Farsted) I would like to thank my mom and dad for everything.
I love you both very much.

Chicago from Tokyo, Japan, Kelly considers herself very fortu-nate to have
