COMPLAINT NUMBER: 11-33684
UPDATED

Travion D. Trapp charged in robbery of the "Bleeding Heart Bakery" in Oak Park has been arrested.

An arrest was just made of Travion Trapp in Chicago.  He has been charged in the robbery of the
Bleeding Heart Bakery
  in downtown Oak Park.

The robbery took place on December 5th at 1010 N. Blvd., which is easily reached by both car and the Lake Street elevated train.  We now have working cameras on the Green and Blue lines,
a move that is already a decade late in implementation.  He has been charged with attempted Murder
(
this is reported to have been based upon his grabbing the young woman by the neck and choking her), aggravated kidnapping, robbery, burglary and perhaps more when the interrogation ends.

When young offenders believe they can help their cause by speaking with the police they often end up telling the truth about events, and if those details are privy to only the police, the victim and the offender you are headed in the right direction towards a full confession.  There should also have been finger prints to recover (
with a prior conviction and sentencing for robbery his prints should have been added to a data base that could have been searched in relationship to prints left at the scene), potential photos from the Green line train, and other eye witnesses.

Police had made a drawing from the instructions of the 22 year old woman who was roughed up and threatened by the offender.  Her inspired drawing showed little resemblance to the perpetrator in this case.  The hat might have been a better image of distinction and perhaps his behavior during the incident might have matched that a case he was involved in some three years ago.

The victim is still in shock, the company is looking for another location in Oak Park, not near public transportation, the loss of $3200.00 is move than many bank robberies and without a dye pack to contend with.

The woman is lucky that things did not escalate to even more offenses and that she is still alive.  Mr. Trapp lived a block away from the Garfield Park Conservatory and right by the Green line.

Travion Trapp from Chicago had first been identified by an employee of the Park District of Oak Park and a Chicago’s 25th district police officer who recalled a traffic stop with someone matching the description and drawing of Trapp.

We are hoping for a signed confession, because without finger prints and other evidence, mere circumstantial evidence does not constitute a conviction.
