Oak Park Pediatric Physician Offers Illegal Drugs for Sex to Wilmette Police.

Dr. Joshua Dana Baron (824 S. Taylor Ave) a 37 year old Oak Park pediatrician has been charged by the Wilmette Police with an attempted delivery of a controlled substance (prescription drugs), along with a misdemeanor for solicitation of sexual favors.

Dr. Joshua Dana Baron is reported to have used Craigslist in the Chicago area to attempt to barter prescribed drugs for sexual rewards. This is quite a common event if one uses alcohol for their drug of choice and finds a consenting adult happy with your company and wishes. Putting an ad on Craigslist for sexual encounters where funds or bartering is noted is a bit risky to say the least since the past few years have seen numerous charges filed against people using Craigslist for activities that are illegal.

The police in Wilmette took note of the offer for drugs and began their undercover investigation which was noted to have lasted a week or so in time. Oak Park police had no knowledge of the investigation at the time. Dr. Baron's specialty was working with children and epilepsy and there is no mention of under aged children being involved in any of this alleged activity.

It is, however, very serious in terms of the possible damage to his medical license and his ability to find work. Rush Medical Center has already suspended him from work with the news of the arrest. It has not been noted which drugs were being exchanged or allegedly offered for trade in the reported transaction which led to Dr. Baron's arrest.

We have emailed Dr. Baron with questions about which drugs he may have been charged with attempting to trade for sexual adventures. We also noted in our correspondence if an aspirin might be traded for a kiss and Tylenol 3 with codine for something more, what might he have had with him and what was he anticipating for his barter. We have not heard back from Dr. Baron at this point. For all the grief and aggravation this has and will cause it is highly recommended that next time he or others should try Cognac.

is to return to court on January 21st. He was released on a $2,000 bond by Judge Axelrood.
