Oak Park Township Assessor Testifies before Senate Revenue Committee On Reassessment Tax Cap SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — State Senator Don Harmon (D–Oak Park) welcomed Oak Park Township Assessor Ali ElSaffar to Springfield today. Assessor ElSaffar presented to the Senate Revenue Committee his proposal to provide tax relief for homeowners who see unusually large increases in their property reassessments. The cap is a new take on the 7% expanded homeowner exemption and focuses on limiting tax increases for homeowners.
