Oak Park Fire Department to offer CPR Classes throughout 2009

The Oak Park Fire Department will offer a variety of life-saving classes throughout the year ahead, including CPR and training in how to use an automated external defibrillator, or AED.

Four different classes will be offered – Infant/Child CPR, Heartsaver/First Aid, Heartsaver/AED and CPR/AED training for health care providers.

Classes will be held from 6 – 10 p.m. at the Department’s certified American Heart Association community training center in the main fire station, 100 N. Euclid Ave. All courses are taught by an AHA-certified instructor.

Classes are free for Oak Park residents, but a $12 CPR or $8.50 First Aid textbook fee payable by check or money order is required. The non-resident class fee is $50. In-person registration is recommended at least two weeks prior to the date of the desired course.

For more details or to register for any of the offered courses, contact the Fire Department at 708.445.3300 or e-mail fire@oak-park.us.
