you $48.00 of ticket awards (
until we run out of tickets..)
Better sooner than later.....  Please help Hannah and the
children of Haiti.

Hannah will give us the names....

Hi, I’m Hannah Sherman, I’m 12 years old and go to

Julian Middle  School, and I want to tell you about my mitzvah project. I recently heard about an orphanage in Haiti that is focused on  getting HIV positive children as healthy as they can be and then  adopted.

Haiti is
the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Five to  seven percent of  the population is HIV positive,
and most of the time
parents of HIV positive children die
of AIDS. These children need a home
and they need care. With the use of new medications, HIV positive is now a chronic medical condition rather than a death sentence.
But without
the right supplies in the orphanage the children cannot survive. They need many supplies and donations to keep their organization running and to keep the children healthy and happy.  The home is very well run, but they especially need food (the cost and limited supply of food
is a big impact in Haiti and many other countries), clothes, and medicine. I thought that I should get involved, so my mom and I met with the head of the adoption agency’s program called Adoption-Link’s Chances by Choice, which works with the HIV home to get children adopted in
Haiti and in many other places around the world. She said
they would be happy to have their staff take down as much stuff as they could carry to Haiti. So we are doing a drive
for them.  All supplies will
go directly to the orphanage and to the needs of the sick children.

Any supplies or donations, small or large, would be deeply
appreciated.

The following items are what are most needed. The children
are newborn to seven years old. Gently used or new items are fine.

 •   Baby Bottles, Bowls, Cups, Spoons, Bibs
 •   Disposable Diapers or Pull-ups and Diaper Pins
      and
Clips
 •   Baby and Children’s Clothes and Shoes
 •   Crib Sheets, Quilts, and Towels
 •   Toys (plastic or rubber, no stuffed animals)
 •   Dry or caned foods (especially food with protein
      in
it) like peanut butter, beans, rice, pasta,
      formula, dry milk, protein
bars, and powdered
drinks in a pouch like Gatorade

Also, as I said, the orphanage needs medicine and things to
keep the children clean and healthy, like hand sanitizer and baby powder. I plan to purchase these items on my own so
if you would like to
donate some money towards the purchase of these items it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for considering this cause,
 Hannah Sherman

If you have supplies or money to donate, send it to
