A Kindergarten student from Mann School in north Oak Park had died yesterday in the afternoon, at a hospital.  He
was a wonderful kid with a bright future and succumbed to
demise at an age too cruel to be believed.  He did not die of
a cause that came from issues like allergies, a flu, mold toxins, or any apparent effect from the school or the region.

Many parents were concerned about how the young man
died.  There were rumors of a car accident and a host of
others.  Unconfirmed reports indicate the reason for death
was from a constricted bowel, a potentially very serious issue, whether the small, or large intestine, or a congenital
or spontaneous event.

We trust that everything was done with best of intentions to save this young man's life.  When more is made known from the family we will keep you informed.  Please take a moment to hug your loved ones and remember how precious they are.

Dear Parents and Guardians:

It is with deep regret that I inform you of the loss of one of our Kindergarten students, Benjamin Wellner.  He passed away suddenly yesterday afternoon.  Funeral arrangements have not yet been determined.

There can be no more devastating loss to a parent than the loss of a child, and our hearts and thoughts go out to Benjamin’s family. The District’s crisis team has been available all day to help students process this loss.  In addition, classroom teachers and district social worker staff have talked with each class.  We will continue to provide support services as necessary.  Please keep Benjamin’s family and friends in your thoughts during this tragic time.

Sincerely,

Nimisha Kumar

Principal
