Oak Park, and NPR's very own show host, writer, entertainer, comedian,
and now....World Renown Auctioneer, Mr. Peter Sagal.

Mr. Sagal, the talented and multi gifted man about town (Oak Park Village..that is.) was kind enough to lead the auctions of
good will and small gifts, along with some large gifts, and all
with incredible success.  He brought in as much money as the
a given mint might print within the same allotted time.  Whether he was asking for $100 or $500 dollar bids of items, the hands
were raising as fast as he could ask.  The crowd loved him and
they loved education, too.

Speaking to a choir of the saved Mr. Sagal helped make the
night an honor to Dr. Bridge and the Oak Park Education Foundation.   He even doubled his original gift to the foundations auctions, of having guests come to his show in Chicago--
as special guests.

Posing with proud parents Dr. Bridge smiles and was having a
wonderful evening, surrounded by admirers and well wishers.
She told me that she plans to take it easy for a week or two but then to start looking for colleges where she would like to teach
a class or two on education.  She is stepping down from her position as Superintendent at Oak Park & River Forest High
School, but not from teaching and her love of learning.

Before the photo was taken from above I asked her father if
she (
Dr. Bridge) was always a good girl.  He looked me straight
in the eye and replied without a moments hesitation -"No".
I informed Dr. Bridge of her father's memory and she added;
" I had to have some fun..."  I left it there, this was her night
and I didn't want to get into trouble...my school records are
still at the high school.

We all wish Susan Bridge a continued bright future and the best for her and her family.  I have always found her straight forward and honest, strong willed and tough - in the good way.

Thank you Dr. Bridge and to her family for letting us borrow her these many years.
