A Beautiful Start to a Season Filled with
A Grand Selection of Pieces from Brahms
to
Berg.

report by Ed Vincent

I had anticipated a wonderful concert by the reputation of
those playing the instruments, many known by their years of
gifted work in regional orchestras and others from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.  The treat of the day was the powerful and wonderful interpretation of Vivaldi's recorder concerto
played by the youthful and talented Amy Pikler.

The First United Church in Oak Park has very nice acoustics.
The many panes of colored windows dance with the shades of
time as the sun slowly sets emphasizing different hues of vision
to match the musical selection, as noted.  All movements with
scherzos seem to occur with the brighter light.

This collaboration of musicians does a magnificent creation
of art in their sound performances.  We would encourage all
of those within the area to come and hear for themselves,
parking is convenient, and the location is accessible and
moving in its stage for the arts.
