HOLLAND, MICHIGAN--TULIP FESTIVAL 2007

review by Ed Vincent

The festival will end soon.  Last weekend there was lots of dancing, parades, crafts in the park, lots of food, more dancing, friendly residents, and acres of tulips.

Beautiful flowers all over the area and tulip farms you won't
believe.

The annual event in Holland, Michigan is a fun celebration that involves many of the residents.  The Dutch dancers are mostly young women, but this year there were 6 young men who put on their wooden shoes.  There is a nice tulip farm that you can tour for a $7.00 admission and a small Dutch town creation with activities and entertainment.

It is a short ride from the Chicago region and easy to reach in a couple of hours.  There are lots of wine tours, antique stores
and plenty to see on the way to Holland.

The time is right, the gas is even less, about $3.15 a gallon, and
the weather is set to be fine too.  Saturdays have the parades and all else is happening on  Sundays.  Check the website below and have a look at the video.  One of the young girls looses a
wooden shoe and almost takes a bystander out, look for the
launch of the wooden missile after the two minute mark.

Take a ride and have some fun....
