The Chicago Auto Show is Ready to Roll

The Chicago Auto Show is filled this year with lots of
fun concept vehicles and plenty of hybrids cars and trucks.
The concept cars and trucks are always a fun view and there are
enough to cover the cost of your admission, not to forget all of
the cutaways and engines for your examination.

This Ford concept truck looks like it would do well on a sales floor and if they did it with bio-diesel, hybrid, E85, or something else fun they might
not be closing plants.

The Chevy truck concept has a nice face, but they should view the Ford above for some pizzazz.

The show is also very informative on the use of alternative fuels
like 85% ethanol, and the current work being done to get these
fuels to many new cars and to make the fuel easier to find.  The
use of ethanol helps our local and regional farmers and allows
us to use less oil from foreign sources and hold our breath for
hydrogen some day.

The photos above are not concepts, but real cars and trucks-start looking
at your budget now.

The 98th Chicago Auto Show.
BACKGROUND

First staged in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto
show in North America and has been held more times than any
other auto exposition on the continent. 2006 marks the 98th
edition of the show.

PRODUCER
The Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA), the nation’s
oldest and largest metropolitan dealer organization. The CATA
has produced the show since 1935.

Mary Conway, reporter for Channel 7 in Detroit (WXYZ) is
not only an intelligent and attractive woman, but also a top
notch driver.

Ms. Conway likes cars and knows how to put the petal to the
metal.  She was born in Janesville, Wisconsin and her father
owned a service station there, she got a love for cars early
in her life.  The Chevrolet Suburban is built in Janesville and
that puts cars and trucks in the blood of many residents.

Mary Conway was above 200 miles per hour on her average
lap times in the AAA simulator, the winner of the time trials
will be able to donate $2500.00 to their favorite charity.
Good luck to Mary Conway, her time was better than all
of the men before her.

The new VW, so to speak, it's a little over $10,900.00 and gets 40 mpg without being electric, hybrid or anything but gas and inexpensive-the

United States Army soldiers rapidly assemble a Shadow 200
UAV (
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle).

It was a treat to see these fine young soldiers put
this eye in the sky together in such a rapid time and
know that this instrument helps save lives of our soldiers
in the field and can easily be moved in the back of a
Humvee to where it can best serve our forces.  This unit
carries no weapons and can only watch the ground for
activity.  It is silent in the air, when at optimum altitude, and
can remain there for several hours.

Lots to see and do at this year's show and don't forget the
Jeep trail rides and acceleration tests in the 6.1 liter Hemi's.
