"Book of Leaves" has no tuberculosis, or serious drug use, but there are more than an average amount of issues between family members. The writing is lively and well developed in both character and plot. This debut for the playwright Will Cooper is a smashing success. The sets were wonderful, the lighting well suited, and the acting was phenomenal. "In vino veritas" takes on an exponential meaning when Jack Daniel's is the fluid of choice. A very talented cast covered every known human emotion, each nuance to lying, deception, and rationalization. The discussions are heated and well tempered with the tears of sorrow. O'Neill would be proud of Mr. Cooper and everyone should get their ticket to see this inviting play, which unfortunately has a short run a Village Players and will close next weekend. Cast (in order of appearance) Walter Masterson
Dan Flannery
Sylvia Baxter Kristen Pickering Prince Masterson Nico Tricoci Jack Grunwald Phil Gordon Beth Grunwald Jodi Wonio Alice Pomfrey Lorraine Freund The action takes place on
